Practice Attendance and Making Up Missed Practices
What if my child misses a practice? We know that life can be busy, and occasionally a practice may be missed. Our goal is to be flexible while also ensuring athletes get the most out of their training. Consistent attendance is important for building skills, refining techniques, and staying connected with their training group.
Junior Development Program and Elementary School Program:
We offer flexibility for our younger athletes. If you have a conflict and need to miss your regular practice, you can make up the practice with the other group in your age division. For example, if you are in a Monday/Wednesday group, you can attend the Tuesday/Thursday session that week.
To make sure we can accommodate this, please contact the club by email in advance to let us know you’ll be attending a different session. This helps us ensure there’s enough space and coaching support for all athletes.
High School Athletes:
Being a high school athlete requires a high level of personal commitment. We fully support multi-sport athletes and believe it helps build well-rounded individuals. However, for track and field, regular attendance is crucial for both your personal growth and the team’s success.
Practices are where you receive specialized coaching, refine your techniques, and build a strong foundation. Due to the nature of our training, it’s not possible to make up a missed practice with a different group. While we understand that conflicts can arise, consistent attendance is the key to mastering skills and improving your performance.
If you have an unavoidable conflict, you must communicate directly with your coach as soon as possible. While a single missed practice won’t completely derail your progress, getting back to a consistent routine is the most important thing you can do to continue your growth in the sport, build confidence, and enjoy your experience.
