Grade 8 Program
Ages:
For athletes born: 2013
(Grade 8 athletes entering their first year of U16 competition)
Practice Day/Time:
Practices are held Monday, Tuesday, Thursday from 6:30–7:45pm.
This schedule provides athletes with additional training time as they transition from the U14 program into a more event-focused development pathway.
Program Focus:
The Grade 8 Program is designed to bridge the gap between U14 development and high school track and field. Athletes will continue to develop a strong foundation of skills while being introduced to more advanced training concepts, event-specific techniques, and competition preparation.
Events:
Athletes will continue to explore a variety of events while beginning to identify areas of interest and specialization. Training may include:
- Sprints (60m, 100m, 200m)
- Hurdles
- Relays
- Long Jump
- High Jump
- Shot Put
- General athletic development
Full Year Program:
Runs from the beginning of November to the end of June.
Note:
The program will take a mid-season break during the last week of March/April and resume in May for the outdoor season.

Volunteering:
Families registered in the Grade 8 Program are required to complete 15 volunteer hours per season.
