Michelle finished 8th in her heat of the 100m Hurdles at the Paris Olympics and will move onto Thursday’s Repechage Round for another opportunity to secure a spot in the semi-finals.
“Today was a tough day on the track.”, Michelle explains in an Instagram post. “After one of my best training weeks last week, I spent the weekend puking my guts out (I didn’t know how to word it nicely so just being real instead 🙃). Even though my stomach is better my strength and nervous system haven’t returned. However, we’re not done yet, going to come back fighting hard tomorrow 💪🏼”
Michelle will race the Repechage on Thursday at 4:30a Eastern / 2:30a Sask Time / 1:30a Pacific.
Savannah will one of the 8 women vying for the medals in Paris, France, in the Olympic 400m Hurdles! Savannah’s time of 53.80s in the semi-final put her into the mix for the final. The race will be Thursday, August 8 at 3:15e/12:25p (in the afternoon).
Congratulations Savannah, on your qualifying performance! Savannah will race in the Olympic 400m Hurdles Semi-final in Paris on Tuesday (August 6th) at Noon (Sask Time).

July 2024 Athlete of the Month
Ashlyn Renneberg
Ashlyn Renneberg broke the Canadian F13 Javelin Record Twice this year throwing 31.48 & 31.59 respectfully, these performances rank Ashlyn #11 in the World for F12/F13 Javelin Throwers. Ashlyn also earned herself a Gold Medal at the U20 & Senior Olympic & Paralympic Qualifiers in Montreal QC earlier this Summer, which poised herself to qualify for her first Paralympics this upcoming August in Paris, France at 19 years of age! June 2024 Athlete of the Month
Savannah Sutherland
Savannah Sutherland broke the Canadian 400m Hurdles Record by an entire second (53.26s) en route to winning the silver medal at the NCAA National Track & Field Championships. This performance ranks Savannah #4 in the World. Savannah was also the Big Ten 400m Hurdles Champion and was named Big Ten Track & Field Athlete of the Year. With her position in the 400mH on the Canadian Olympic Team assured, Savannah ran the 400m at the Bell Canadian Olympic Team Trials/National Championships to earn a spot on the 4x400m, where she finished 3rd in a time of 52.00s.

Congratulations to our club president, Kyle Williams, for being recognized by Saskatchewan Athletics for his dedication to track & field. Not only is Kyle the president of the Saskatoon Track & Field Club, he is the president of Saskatchewan Athletics and has officiated for over 20 years!

May 2024 Athlete of the Month
Michael Hussey
Michael Hussey broke the SSSAD Saskatoon High School 400m and 800m records. The 400m record was set 42 years ago by STFC alumni and 1988 Olympian Cyprian Enweani. Michael represented Canada last summer at the Commonwealth Youth Games and has committed to the University of Saskatchewan Huskies for this fall.

April 2024 Athlete of the Month
Josh Tam
Josh Tam was named Huskie Track Male rookie of the year. He qualified for two events at Usport Nationals, Heptathlon and Pole Vault. In the Heptathlon he finished 6th. Josh also helping give back to the sport by coaching high school athletes at SSSAD pole vault practices and at Aden Bowman Collegiate.

March 2024 Athlete of the Month
Corbin Unrah
Corbin Unrah is ranked #1 in the Country in U18 High Jump. At the Alberta Championships he broke the Saskatchewan U18 record jumping 2.06m. Then at the Kinsmen Indoor Games he broke his own record jumping 2.07m and was named Male Athlete of the Meet.
